Britney Lane, 26, of Manchester, New Hampshire, was crowned Miss New Hampshire USA 2023 live on stage at the Music Hall Theater in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. Britney holds a masters degree in social work and works at a non profit community mental health center in Manchester. She is a child and family therapist case worker with kids helping them reprocess their trauma and empowers them to own their survivor story. She is a strong advocate for sexual assault policy change. As a sexual assault survivor herself, she has helped pass the Sexual Assault Survivor Bill of Rights into law in the state of Rhode Island and is currently advocating to expand it to other states. This law gives all survivors access to basic rights following an assault. Her outfit she was wearing at the time of her assault is currently on display at the United Nations Headquarters as part of tan exhibit to end the question "what were you wearing" and end the all too popular survivor blaming. Britney has testified and told her story to UN representatives and helped pass a resolution bill providing access to justice for all survivors globally. Britney will be representing New Hampshire at Miss USA® later this year.
